![]() The projector is available to purchase on Shopee for RM 4,999 if you are interested. ![]() Getting The Acer Predator GD711 Projector The projector gets quite heated up after a while so be sure to turn that air-conditioner on if you are going to play for long session.įor those whom want to enjoy movies and videos on projector, it has built in android system that allow you to download apps and connect to the Wi-Fi directly to enjoy your movies without needing to connect to your PC or mobile phone. Heat wise, we would strongly suggest to put the projector at a location which is not covered by other things for it to disperse the heat. However, be sure to stand behind the projector while playing so that you would not block our the projection. No more squinting your eyes or mistakenly looking at some else’s split screen as the Acer Predator is able to project as big as your wall can fit (up to 200-inch display but it is recommended at 74 inches display at 2m length from the projected surface for best visuals). Switching the console to the Nintendo Switch, having a bigger screen for the console is just a joy to play with not only when you go around catching Pokemon or killing monsters in Monster Hunter, it is plus especially when you play party games with friends when they visit.Īs much as a TV is quite big of a display, you know how the system likes to split the screen into 4 so you can’t really see your mini screen. Although it does not show as much contrast, every detail in the game is still visible and clear enough to play. Most projectors are not able to project details when it is not a darken room but the Acer Predator GD711 Projector works just fine. For the PlayStation 5, although the projector does not have a HDMI 2.1 connection port it does project details nicely and made it comfortable for gaming. We tried connecting both the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch to test out the projector. Projecting consoles display are limited to 120Hz. However, the refresh rate are only applicable when it is connected to a PC or laptop. It is also said to be able to hit 240Hz refresh rate at 1080p. The Acer Predator GD711 Projector is capable of projecting 4K display and offers up to 4,000 lumens. It comes with a remote control which makes everything easier and you can change the setting just right from where you are seated instead of getting up. Pressing the D-pad on the projector body is quite hard to navigate around. The auto-keystone setting made up for all that. By its own, you can’t really gain much height and therefore we would strongly suggest to put the projector on a chair, table or mount for better projection.Īs to adjust the projected screen, you can only adjust the zoom for sharper display and the keystone to make sure it is a straight projection. For me, I don’t really have a white wall to throw the projection into so I had to use the projector screen that I had standing by. If you have blank wall you can project to it should be quite easy to set it up. On the other side, we have 2 HDMI 2.0 port, USB-A, DC 5V Out (For Service) and Audio Out port. The wireless dongle port is fitted with the provided wireless dongle to aid the projector with wireless projection. Lastly, on the back of the projector we have all the connection ports and power port available at the back. While on the bottom, we have three adjustable screw-in legs which doesn’t really gives much angle to the projection. On the left and right, we have this mesh which allows better airflow. On the bottom left, there is a manual D-pad which allows you to navigate around the settings and controls. Moving to the top, you can see the lens adjuster with a Predator logo sitting right below it. Right at the front we have the projector lens on the left with a cover tied to it and the Predator logo etched on the right side. Taking apart the design details, it looks like the usual projectors which is easy to navigate if you are used to one. The edgy body design with the mesh on its side body gives off the gaming vibe. This is the first projector that is designed to fit a gaming setup. The projector comes in a full black body, fitting the gaming theme. However, it is mobile and easy to setup enough to bring to a party for game session with friends. We would not say that the Acer Predator GD711 Projector is mobile enough to just carry around in comparison to projectors with smaller sized. While a monitor or TV maybe your usual go to, you don’t get to move it around when needed. ![]() Acer launched the Acer Predator GD711 Projector quite some time ago and we finally got our hands on it to do a quick review.
